These days it seems everybody is "going green." Real concern for climate change and the environment, however, has to go beyond slogans and bullet points designed to look good and make a buck. ![]() This affects us all. We can't solve anything if it's only for some, and it's run by greed. That's what brought us here in the first place. That and complacency. Then there's something called misinformation. The lack of a committed media. A shortage of proper education. The list goes on... As that abyss we could be heading towards comes closer and clearer into view, there are even some intelligent, informed ideas being voiced out there. That's a good thing, but too many halos are tarnished when their angels talk of "solutions" that include "clean" coal, growing genetically-modified corn for fuel, and "safe" nukes. To really solve these problems you need a grounded, centered vision that comes from knowledge and from the heart. You need to look at the whole picture and get input from the whole community. You need a vision that that respects people and science. Fixing the earth is everyone's job. You can't have a healthy planet without healthy democracies. Stewardship is what it'll take. Are we ready for that? Are YOU ready to help? Greens have a long, generational perspective, seeking action through responsibility and wisdom. We're going to need that. Why not add your voice to ours? |
