Javier Del Sol for Mayor of Lake Worth, FloridaJavier is a member of the Green Party of Florida and has devoted over 30 years of energy and vision to creating a more sustainable Lake Worth for today’s and tomorrow’s generations.  His current campaign for mayor is just another leg in that journey.

A Message from Javier:

I want to personally thank everyone for the encouragement and support I have received since announcing my campaign for mayor. I intend to earn every vote by running a campaign that puts values and issues before fundraising and political favors.  My campaign will be based on humanitarian values and fueled by elbow grease.

I believe in your vote and look forward to serving as Mayor.  I hope you will join us in what we intend to be the most progressive campaign in Lake Worth’s history.

A Different Kind of Campaign

  • We will take to the streets on bikes and on foot.
  • We will be conscious of the carbon footprint and the true costs of the products purchased for the campaign.
  • We will run an ethical campaign and accept only individual donations.
  • We will self limit all donations to less than the legal limit.
  • We will encourage all the candidates to join us in a series of forums where the public can hear from the citizens and what they want.
  • We will encourage our volunteers and supporters to join us in community service projects.
  • We will strive to inspire, educate, and uplift the citizens of Lake Worth.
  • We will have fun doing it.

My Platform:

Wise and Equitable Use of Land and Resources

  • Ensure that publicly owned assets, including the beach, benefit all the community
  • Develop and support land trusts to clean up and stabilize our neighborhoods
  • Establish our city as an energy independent city by the ocean. Conserving energy is the first step to citywide obtainable/sustainable energy reliance.
  • Reestablish our beach’s protected dunes, prevent dredging, and create an educational nature center

Green Economics

  • Replace empty store fronts with incubator businesses, cooperatives, and cottage industries
  • Create green jobs by providing incentives to businesses that implement sustainable practices and offer a living wage
  • Advocate for a downtown arts center for all residents

Future Focus

  • Maintain diverse and consistent recreation, arts, and sports programs for residents of all ages
  • Focus on youth by addressing social problems with humanitarian solutions
  • Promote family planning and crime prevention through education

Participatory Democracy

  • Keep citizens informed and involved through town meetings held throughout the city
  • Encourage participation from all citizens regardless of nationality, gender, sexual orientation and economic status - All must shoulder their civic responsibility
